Anyone ever smoke a full hangar steak? They are not cut into portions yet and are both running about 8 lbs a piece. Not alot of people have even heard of this cut...I describe it as the tenderness of a filet and the taste of a sirloin.

Is this the top muscle of the diaphragm? If this is the one, it is very tender and tasty. I have heard it called a "feather steak" here in rural areas.

Never heard of that cut myself. The flat iron steak is a newer one also and seem to be qite popular. It sorta looks like a flank but alot more tender. keep us posted
 
don't know if it is the same..but sounds like a BARON OF BEEF..love them big hunks of beast..
