Pork-a-saurus-Rex here,

I presently live in the Kansas City area. Thats been an accurate statement for going on 40 years. My father was from Vidalia, Ga. (yes, that's correct; the onion) - FYI - The Georgia Department of Agriculture holds license over this sweet onion variety.  They have designated an exclusive area in the Southwest part of the state for growing the licensed onion.  Comparatively speaking, this area is quite small, encompassing just 20 counties. The onion starts life in the fall and is ready for harvest and distribution anytime after April 15th and runs until September.  I present these facts as an offering to the smoking members of the forum because I'm certain that most of you has found this to be a most excellent onion included in recipe preparation. Interesting and accurate facts always play well in conversation around the campfire or the pit.

Anyway,  I am retired. Wife retired in January and we are preparing to put our 40 ft. motorhome on the road and go see this fabulous country we live in. All for now.

What a nice extension of warm and welcome wishes. Thanks to all of you for speaking to me. I must admit that I am not accustomed to the seemingly complex inner workings the "forum landscape". It will take time to get it sorted out. Heck, it took me twenty minutes to figure out how to reply to you guys with what you are reading now. Maybe If I were from the generation of kids we just raised, I'm certain it'd be different. When they were home computing/internet was simple. Yell for help and they come running to the rescue. Those days are past us now. That's okay; the next chapter in the book is upon us. Again, thanks to all. Ken
BTW....I can't find it now; for reasons unknown, someone here ask how I came up with my screen name Pork-a-saurus-Rex. All the credit goes to the Flintstones. I was watching an episode of the Flintstones with the Grand kids. Bingo. I like pork and served in dinosaur portions.
