Grills Marks On a Rec Tec

    I don't understand how people complain about pellet grills not giving grill marks to a piece of meat. I do you use the searing grates and get perfection... My Rec Tec produces the best steak I ever made. NY Strips are my favorite

    Agree 100% BigTrain...the Rec Tec @ 500* with the Grill Grates in makes a great searing machine. Do you leave you grease tray in when searing? I've found that it gets up to temp faster and sears better if I pull my grease tray out first and throw some foil in the bottom of the barrel to catch any drips.

    No sir, I used the cooker as it is instructed to be used... Just using the normal stainless grates at 450
