any body uses the grillgrates flameless grates on the gas side of their pit? debating on getting some

another question, on smoking briskets, do yall put temp probe horizontally or vertically to check temps?

Hi & welcome to the CG group!

I can't help you with the flameless grates.  I never heard of them, but then I don't have a gas grill side either.

What the heck IS flameless grates anyway?

As for temp probe placement, as long as the tip of the temp probe is in center of the thickest part of the meat, you're good.

I use my fingers for probe placement, whether horizontal or vertical, Put probe up beside meat and measure where the probe tip is at center of thickest part of meat.  Then grasp probe with fingers at the meat level, and insert.

I don't think I explained that very well, but hopefully you will get my drift.
