Hey all -
I came across this forum while doing some research on a smoker. I'm looking at a GrillPro Verticle Propane smoker which can be ordered online from ACE hardware. I have used a Brinkman propane smoke n grill in the past and liked the convience of it, so thought I would stay with the propane line. Just wanted to say hi and that I really like what I have seen around here so far!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

KU's world famous Rock Chalk Chant evolved from a cheer that a chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, created for the KU science club in 1886. Bailey's version was "Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU" repeated three times. The rahs were later replaced by "Rock Chalk," a transposition of chalk rock, the name for the limestone outcropping found on Mount Oread, site of the Lawrence campus.
The cheer became known worldwide. Teddy Roosevelt pronounced it the greatest college chant he'd ever heard. Legend has it that troops used the chant when fighting in the Philippines in 1899, in the Boxer Rebellion in China, and in World War II. At the Olympic games in 1920, the King of Belgium asked for a typical American college yell. The assembled athletes agreed on KU's Rock Chalk and rendered it for His Majesty.

Hey welcome and glad to meet you! I've had great results and awesome eating with a Brinkman Smoke n' Pit. Of course I have done a few modifications with stainless steel, but it is a good unit.

Just thought I would say hello from another Kansan. Just joined looks like a great site.
Our team just won the tailgater division (babyback ribs) at the KSU wildcat competition. We are excited to continue with competitions and to have some fun. All of our team work at Fort Riley so we are around the Manhattan area. I went to KU several years back
