I just got into smoking meats about 5-6 months ago.  I currently own a Outdoor Gourmet Triton Gas/Charcoal/offset firebox grill (the Academy Summer special...LOL!)

I bought it last summer, but only used the charcoal and gas grills until about 6 months ago when I decided to try smoking a brisket.  I did a lot of research, and it actually turned out pretty good..but not perfect, so I was hooked!!  Since then, I have smoked ribs, chicken, sausage, and even more brisket.  Yep..I am addicted!!!  Gonna try a pork butt in a couple of weeks.  We shall see how it turns out.

As for me, I am a retired USAF dude...24 1/2 years worth.  Enjoyed it, but after my last deployment...most of the time spent outside the wire in Iraq, it was time to call it quits.  War is a young man's game, and I am no longer a young man!  I retired here in San Angelo, and now hold a civilian job, helping veterans get treatment for PTSD.  And I also am the assistant pastor at a church here in town.  So I spend lots of time practicing grilling/smoking at our potlucks!  LOL....

Anyway, happy to be hear.  Glad I found this place!
