Hello there! My name is Saxyjaz from Burnsville, MN (a 3rd ring suburb of Minneapolis) and I've read a few articles and threads on here over the last couple months as I experiment with my new passion of cured and/or smoked/grilled meats! I decided today I better just officially join. I've got a Masterbuilt 30" electric (a replacement for the first one I got in January that crapped out during its maiden voyage). Was happy with Masterbuilt's response and am hoping this 2nd generation unit (which when they replaced they upgraded to include stand and a cool color). Will be testing out some of the newer design features today with a chicken or two! I plan to try to modify the old MES to be a cold smoke cabinet add on to the new smoker. I'm guessing there's some one who's tried that on here so I'll be looking for ideas on that. I've also got a Weber spirit E-310 LP grill that I love! It's not huge but does everything I have asked it to do for my family of 4 (including smoking my Easter ham cause the MES had broke down). Anyway, I'm happy to be here and to learn from all you pros!
