getting geared up for our 1st smoke!

we were gifted a little chief electric smoker by my Dad for xmas - we've been looking forward to trying it out for awhile now  :)

and I've been stalking this site for awhile - there's alot of inspiration here!

my husband and I have no experience - just alot of enthusiasm

my husband's busy in the kitchen - I should go watch  ;)

the meat's in the fridge - and it has to stay there for awhile - that's a bit of an anti-climax

but there's salmon - doing the recipe from the book that came w/the smoker - that will be ready for actual smoking tomorrow

and there's a 1/4" flank steak seasoned w/Hi-Mountain kit trying to be jerky that will be ready for smoking Monday

it's a start  :)
