Helly everyone, i want to thank all of you who posted information about smoking pork shoulders and smoking in general. Im in Miami, FL and always loved bbq's in general, untill i went to visit my brother on texas and wow, .... Then i new what real bbq is all about.
Anyways, ive real a lot of posts l, and i will be smoking my first meats tomorrow. As a first challenge, im having about 30 people come over and i will attempt to do some pull pork. I was only able to find boston butt in my store. So i will attempt it. I bougjt 3 shoulder of aboiut 8 pounds each. Hopefully its enough. I will commence preparation in the next couple of minutes and probably start my charcoal smoker at around 3 or 4 am. Wish me luck, and any recomendations are more than welcome.

Welcome to the board! My sister used to live in Kendall (SW 93rd Terrace).

Miami is a FANTASTIC town for grocery shopping! Grab something spiky from the produce department, and use it to kill whatever's crawling out of the fish case. And then there's the walk-up coffee counters ... and the rum.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.

Thank you all, the butt came out great. I had some trouble keeping the temperature but i managed. I used the bilbos world famous dry Rub, from this forum. I used a combination of lump coal and hickory wood. Everyone loved the pork and the comments were great. I didnt have any leftovers, and people were having 2or 3 plates . Thanks

Very nice looking butts!!!! If people were coming back for seconds and thirds, I think you can chalk that smoke up in the WIN column!!
Congratulation!!!
Keep Smokin!!!
