Good afternoon. I'm fairly new to smoking. Last yr I bought a wood smoker, I have smoked chicken and pork butt a couple times. Smoked ribs and brisket once. Everything turned out. Some better than others. I enjoy the wood smoker but the time it takes makes it difficult to find time to use. I constantly have to maintain the fire to keep temps even. So I just purchased an electric smoker/wood chips. Trying it today for first time. Not sure if it will have the same flavor as the wood smoker but the ease of use hopefully will encourage me to smoke more.

Welcome to the site and congratulations on getting your new smoker.  Hope the change works out the way your hoping it will.

I don't have experience with the electric smokers but have read that a good many electric smoker owners add an additional smoke generator to get the amount of smoke flavor from the electric smokers.

A lot of folks here like and use these
