Found this site while surfing. Lurked a little and found some good information, decided to register. I smoke on a elcheapo Brinkman, but it yields tasty treats so what the heck. I usually smoke pork butts and shoulders and just tried a fattie for the first time. Idaho is a BBQ desert, so I need all the suggestions I can get.

Welcome aboard my western neighbor! You'll find lots of good info around here and great folks willing to share it. I know what you mean about coming from a BBQ desert. Like many things, if we want it done right we do it ourselves. Don't feel the need to apologize for using an ECB. Thats what many of us have in our arsenals and are using to great effect. You can find many mods for them around here which allow you greater control of these units. I'll be finishing mine this week

Welcome to the SMF. I have a feeling that you will be smoking up more fatties in the time to come. Dont forget to post some q views from time to time

Welcome to the group, Spud. We're glad to have you. Where in the famous potato state do you hail from? Although its been many years ago, I spent the majority of my service time at Mt. Home AFB back in the late 80's.

Cheers,
Brian

Welcome to the SMF, a great placve to share good times. You live in a very scenic sate, i've spent a lot of time in Moscow, Salmon, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Twin Falls, and Jerome. Don't put your ECB down, many a great Q has been produced on those smokers. What part of Idaho are you from? We do have some members from your state.

I am from the eastern part of the state in Rexburg, near the confluence of the South Fork and Henry's Fork of the Snake River. A great place to live if you like fly fishing.

Here is a shout out to the Great Northwest!!!

Man, I really miss living back home in WA state. I am a PA transplant but grew up playing in the mountains of waters of that beautiful area.

Welcome to the board from a fellow newbie.
