And old stand alone fridge. I saw where a guy made a huge smoker from an old skool fridge. It needs to be more than 10-15 years old I was told because of the way it was made with porcelin or somehting like that. He sells a kit for it but my dad is a very good wrlder, and an avid smoker, and we sat and talked and drew up designs to how we would like it made and it seems pretty kick arse! It will be set up kind of like a giant GOSM.

Now, my trouble has been finding an old fridge that we can use. I live in Winter Haven FL and my folks live in Bronson FL (a little west of Gainesville). If anyone has any ideas about where I might be able to find one or even two your help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have a friend in Washington state that convered an old fridge into a smoker. He can do cold smokes as well and smokes cheeses...

I'd love to see pics if you find one and build it.

Try a used restaurant supply, they may have one that doesn't work.

I picked up a stainless one years ago for cheap.

My son (really, he is),

Look at Craigslist (Lakeland, Tampa, Orlando). Don't overlook the "General" and "Free" sections. You will have to go and put "eyes on" item before you decide if its worth it or not. As someone stated here - don't overlook used restaraunt supply places. Call and see if they have any "dead" ones they need removed.

I recently found a place that sells plate steel - called "drop offs or cut offs" for a reasonable price. I may be getting a new bottle of Argon (the M2HB build took most of the current bottle) and can put something together for you.

Love,
dad

Look into re-sale stores, antiques(seems how you described it, you may have to pay a premium for it),junk yards(metal) and Craig's List
Ya never know;it could happen
