Hi, my name is Don, and I live on the West Side. I am somewhat new to smoking. I have been able to make a pretty good pulled pork, but have had trouble with ribs. I joined SmokingMeat a few months ago, and have been reading the newsletters. I've found a lot of valuable and informative articles, but only after purchasing the recipes did I find out that there is a membrane on the bone side of ribs that has to be removed. I am now at the bottom half of 2 hours in on smoking a rack and can't wait to try out this set! I mostly use apple, but have used maple. Can anyone tell me if mulberry wood can be used? The site says any fruit wood, but I'm not sure if some different types would not be so tasty. I use an offset that my dad built, with the hotbox on the left. I'm hoping to learn a lot about smoking so I can impress people at work.
