Did my first BB ribs,ABT's, and fatty's this weekend and they all turned out OUTSTANDING!!! Used Jeffs rub and his BBQ sauce, all turned out great. My next project will be a pork butt. I changed the sauce just a little bit. Instead of Tobasco Sauce, I used Ol-Gringo Pepper Sauce. It has a much better flavor and is not quite as hot. I use it on everything! Forgot to take pic's. Will try to remember next time.

Welcome to SMF Nevada Grumpy. Sounds like your on the right road. Be sure to allow plenty of time with that butt to make sure it gets done when you want to eat. Keep reading and sharing your experiences with us. If you need help just ask.

I'm not a Tobasco fan either... I'll use my bro-in law's own dry ground, or actually for some flavor without heat, or much of it...I use Franks red hot. That is is the recipe does not call for stright jalapeno or something. Jalapeno in Q sauce is a pretty good mix I find too..with seeds and webbing for the heat, without for that distinctive taste they provide.

...Glad to have you Aboard!...You're gonna like it here!...

Like Richtee, Frank's Red Hot is the main hot sauce I use...Crystal, and Louisiana brand hot sauces are a couple of others I use...

These 3 sauces do not have starches and/or gums added and have a much truer cayenne pepper flavor...at least to my taste buds!...

Can't stand the taste of the starches and gums found in other hot sauces!...

Another thing that's quite tasty is ground chipoltle peppers added to a sauce or rub...and when using it, I grind my own in a small electric coffee grinder that I use only for peppers, spices, herbs, etc.!...

Funny thing...one morning I ground coffee in the 'spice' grinder by mistake, while in a state of sleepiness...and I've gotta tell ya...

THAT made a REALLY interesting cup of coffee to say the least!!!...lol...
