It appears that Vermont Castings is not doing too well.

Let's hope they can pull out of bankruptcy or someone else maybe buy up the GOSM line of smokers. I am quite fond of my Big Block.

That sucks, but I think that there are alot of companies hurting. Except the oil companies they are making a killing......

The GOSM deluxe is what I had decided on buying, even though the Wal-Mart website showed the online orders were on back order... I was going to order anyway and wait it out.

Well, back to the search I guess...

If you find somewhere that they can be ordered from and not placed on back order, drop me a note.

Wally World still show the Wide Body 3405BGW as in stock. They delivered mine to my local store last Thursday. The first one the week before got there damaged and they cancelled my order. I reordered the next day and someone from CS emailed me and knocked ~$10 off for the delay.

I'm not their biggest fan but it was hard to not order from them w/ the free shipping and all. I would of liked a Big Block but that would have ended up cost about another $100. So instead I invested $50 in baby backs, butts and a picnic and let her roll this past Sunday on her first smoke. The BB just fit 2 racks to a shelf, 2 butts on another shelf and 1 picnic and another rack on the third. Fit a couple fatties in the open holes. Think it's time to buy/make a fourth shelf.

BTW Temp guage is ~10 low and so far I was able to easily keep it down around 225.

No they only have the wide body and the smaller one in the stores. There are only a couple places to get the BBs and all will cost ~$50 for shipping.

The Wally World Wide Body is 20x14x34 w/ 4 positions and 3 grids. The Big Block is 24x16x36 w/ 5 positions and 4 grids. BB is avaliable from epod2000.com which is out of stock at $180, Bass Pro is $200 and not sure on stock and Amazon is $245 w/ free shipping? The other two will be ~$50 for shipping. So the $139 for the Wide Body w/ free shipping seems like the bargin and is avaliable. They got mine to the local store in ~ 5 days.

Well, I'm sure someone will buy it up and manufacture the brand in CHINA. Thank god we can at least support THEIR economy and workers.

I hated the idea of paying shipping for the big block also, luckily I stopped in the Bass Pro Shops in Nashville and they were able to get one shipped to the store at no charge and discounted it 10% for not having it in stock.

I got my Big Block from epod2000. The closest Bass Pro shop is in Branson about 5 hours away from here. So, $50 shipping was not bad if you look at what wouold have been spent on gas to pick one up. If you have one shipped epod is the cheapest. They were also quick. When i got it in one of the side racks that hold the meat racks was broke off. I called and they sent me two replacement side racks no cost in three days. I was really pleased. Home Depot, as big as they are, wouldn't match the price or have it shipped to their store. I hope they dont go under. It's too good of a sale to lose. I am sure Bass Pro will buy it up and manufacture it with a third party and call it the "Bill Dance Smoker" or something. Reviews are too strong on the GOSM series for it to stop being made.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the box mine came in already says "Assembled in CHINA, and Origin of parts in CHINA"...
