Good places in Irving, TX?

Will be in Irving in August for a week.
Any recommendations?
Won't have lots of time to drive to far away from John carpenter freeway so trying to stay close by.

Not sure where on John Carpenter you'll be. There's Hobbis, Dickies, Sonny Bryan's, Red-hot and Blues, and FM Smokehouse right off the freeway.

I understand.  Most have a few restaurants in the DFW area.  Sonny Bryan's has franchises avail.  Hobbis I think has the one location.  I recommend going online to check them out.  When you get there plenty of folks will point you to their favorite places.  Some may not be on the map.  They can be the best.
