Put a 14# brisket on at 7pm last night at 225.  It was 148 degrees at 8a, so I put it into an aluminum pan and covered with foil and turned the heat up to 250.  Now, 21 1/2 hours of total time and it's only at 168.

So much for having this for dinner tonight.  With any luck it might be done for tomorrow night's dinner.

Did you inject it? Probe it? or Compromise the surface in any way before you started cooking it?
13 hours to get to 148* could be way too long if you did.

I'm using the SMOKIN-IT #3.  I believe I ID'd the problem in that its not getting up to temp.  After I pulled it and finished it in the oven, I left it on with the thermometer inside and with the dial turned to 250, it only got to 219.

I contacted Steve the owner last night, and he already has a replacement controller and element sent via UPS today.  Hopefully, one/both of those are bad and I'll be back up and running in a few days.
