GO DUCKS, Need a Yellow and Green Side dish for a Bowl Party

Looking for suggestions, I am attending a Rose bowl party on new years and I am looking for any suggestions for a side dish with the color scheme Yellow and Green. I thought this would be a great place to ask cuz there are some really talented folks on here.

smoked mac and cheese. through some parsley or something in there to add the green color.

Hope they do better then the embarrassment OSU had at the Vegas bowl this year.

I can't decide who to root for. Not much of a fan of the Ducks after living in Eugene for three years and having to deal with their fans everywhere in Oregon.

Try an avocado dip for the green, and cheddar cheese melted on big corn chips. Or, cornbread that had cheddar and green onions in it. Got to go now... I just made myself humgry.

Yellow and green side dish screams succotash to me.

ABTs with yellow food coloring added to the cream cheese. Skip the bacon & it'll be just green & yellow.

I was going to say succotash too, but now im leaning toward the jello shot idea!

Not sure what succotash is, except for the Loony Tunes saying....Have to check it out. I like the ABT Idea...hmmm all great options.

Succotash is lima beans and corn.........there are some real jazzed up versions out there, but basically the beans and corn is it.

How do you live in Eugene for three years and grow to dislike the ducks. I think the fans are great...guess its because I am one of them

. I hope they do well because the rest of the Pac 10 Bowl teams haven't done well at all.

One instance I was picking up some groceries and there was an Arizona fan (I believe) in front of me buying some stuff. The store clerk made some comment about how he hopes their star player gets injured during the game.

At a bar in Bend last fall there were some beaver fans with all their orange and black watching a UO game. A big group of UO fans were talking trash the whole game and any good play by the ducks, they would all turn around and sing the fight song. Enough to where I said to hell with the game and left cause it was so annoying.


Also lived in the bad parts of Eugene, lots of theft and crummy stuff.

That being said, I know not all duck fans are a-holes, the rest of my family graduated from there. Good luck, and good cooking.

Just playing the devils advocate, how about some buckeyes. I am a Ohio State fan but It would be a difficult for me to bet on them, but it would be a bet I would be happy to pay off.
Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
• 1 cup butter, softened
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 6 cups confectioners' sugar
• 4 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

1. In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter, butter, vanilla and confectioners' sugar. The dough will look dry. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Press a toothpick into the top of each ball (to be used later as the handle for dipping) and chill in freezer until firm, about 30 minutes. Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler or in a bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water. Stir frequently until smooth.
2. Dip frozen peanut butter balls in chocolate holding onto the toothpick. Leave a small portion of peanut butter showing at the top to make them look like Buckeyes. Put back on the cookie sheet and refrigerate until serving
