Hey All,
New member from Canada here. I did some searching ( I know how forums hate the news guys coming in and ignoring that search button ;P) but was unable to come up with anything similar to my situation.
Here's the deal. I purchased my smoker brand new last week, set it up, and did the initial burn in. All seemed well... until the next morning. No power to the display? When I shut it off, I did use the wifi app to shut it off, not sure if that makes a difference at all.
I checked the fuse (looked fine but replaced it anyhow) checked all connections, tested my plug. Everything seems fine. I know the power is getting to the control panel because the giant heat sink on the back gets hella hot. I know it might be a long shot, but is there anything anyone can think of that I'm missing here?
GMG (US, the canada warranty claim was completley useless) has been A+ about this by the way, I have a new control panel on route to me. I bought the grill 2 weeks early in hope to smoke some ribs for this up coming mothers day.
I did notice my oven thermometer was about 100 degrees hotter then the display on the control panel on the initial burn in as well. I had it set at 350 and thermometer read 450, i did have the infuser open as well though, so I wasnt thinking too far into this.
This is the 2015 model with the stainless heat box at the bottom.
Id like to thank everyone for their input in advance, and I am really looking forward to being here and trying out all your awesome tips and recipes.
