I'm Mark. 50 something fat, white, balding grandpa who loves to smoke that meat! Been smoking meat for about 8 years now. I learn something new with every smoke!
Been using a Char-Griller Smokin' Pro Grill & Smoker this whole time. Because I live on an island, about 10 feet from salt water, the elements are tough on the smokers...I go through 1 about every 2-3 years. I know I could sand blast the sub-par paint that they use on their smoker and replace with something more substantial, but at $150.00 a pop, I almost treat these smokers as disposable. I'll be trying something new this year...as I notice the paint failing, I'll sand and repaint with some 2000 degree automotive manifold paint. See if I can get a few more years out of my work horses! But part of the price for living on The Island is darn near everything rusts, corrodes or just rots away.
