I just found SMF thru a good friend and really like what I see. I am a long time smoker and griller and burn some meat every chance I get. I currently live in Louisiana, so have a longer grilling season than in past locations. Not to be slowed down, I was often seen sweeping snow off the picnic tables in Germany to break out the portable grill when stationed there in the Army.
I grill pretty much anything I can eat - meat (of course), vegetables, fish, pizza, stir fry.
I currently have a New Braunfels smoker and a Weber Kettle grill for everyday BBQ. One of the local New Orleans area chefs was recently featured in the newspaper and one of his quotes touched my heart - "The first thing you need to do, if you have a gas grill, is get rid of it!" Wood or charcoal is real BBQ and electricity if the landlord doesn't allow open flames.
I am looking forward to being a part of this forum.
