Hi everyone,

UT Vol fan (I know, but were trying to get better) living in Knoxville, TN.  Finally made the big plunge into smoking after toying with it on my gas grill for a long time.  After a lot of research on SMF I went with a Masterbuilt Pro XL for the versatility, especially at higher temps, over a MES.  I've had it for a week, followed the mods on this site, and smoked my first BB ribs following an example in a thread. They turned out really good.  Not great, but I learned a lot to make things better next time.  I will try to post pics of some of my successes and mods in the future.

Thanks for a great site.

Well Howdy Volunteer!  Glad you found the forum and are learning lots on the threads.  Great people here.   We get along with everyone!  Heck, we even bury hatchets and smoke peace pipes.  Looking forward to seeing you around the Forum with pics of what you smoke on your new BBQ obsession.
