I feel like a kid the week before Christmas. I've always loved to cook, and last week a woman at work is going to buy her husband a mes 30" for Christmas. She asked me if I knew anything about them. I didn't then, but have learned a lot the last week. That's all it took and I'm hooked before I even start.

I live near Albany, NY and Just recieved my mes 30 last night from Amazon. I haven't "seasoned" it yet, and that's where I'll start. I read the directions in the manual, and thought it was rather simple. Upon reading them again, I became confused. Here's what it says to do:

" Preseason smoker prior to first use. Make sure water pan is in place with NO WATER. Set
temperature to 275°F (135°C) and run unit for 3 hours. Shut down and allow to cool. Some smoke
may appear during this time, this is normal.
During last 45 minutes, add 1 cup of wood chips in chip loader to complete preseasoning.

My question is the last line "add 1 cup of wood chips to the LOADER" ?

Do I turn the loader and put the chips into the woodchip HOLDER, and let them do their thing, or leave them in the LOADER ?

Well, I guess that's a good start. Can't wait for the weekend !  Thanks for your help.
