So Ive logged into smf before, posted a new roll call post and everything. Im new to the smoking world, already signed up for the 5 day ecourse and got everything from it. Signed up for the news letter as well. I recently have been reviewing rub recipes along with bbq ones as well. ANYONE have any good advice on the type of smoker to use for a newbie??? on the ecourse it says to use the ECB (el cheapo brinkman) what one is that exactly?? HELP ME HERE I WANT TO GET INTO THIS WAY BAD.

First of all, welcome to the SMF. Reading reviews is a great way to filter out what you can use. Choosing a smoker should be taken with time, althouigh we often end-up changing/upgrading to another smoker. The ECB is a basic charcoal smoker, and a lot of great Q has come from that model. Keep reading reviews, it'll help you in the long run. It's all good my friend.

Welcome to SMF TJBarker. To add to Richoso1's answer, how much money do you have to spend? Do you need to spend it now or can you save a little more? Research is the first step to determine what type of smoker will do the right job for you. Do you want to smoke for a small tribe or the whole village?? The saying is "Buy the next size up than what you really need." Of course, you can always start out with a smaller, cheaper model & upgrade as you go. The choices, I think, begin with, "How much can you afford?"
