galvinized exhauast piping ? is that ok to use

iv have a old chimney ven tin my garage and that's a class b vent and was wondering if i can go galvanized exhaust from the smoker to it with out worrying about those nasty fumes of zinc i do not have and galvanized parts in my smoke just the exhaust i would like to user it on ..any suggestions?

Hello Brad.  So long as you maintain an air flow from your intake to the outlet; which you will do to maintain temp and control the smoke, you will be fine using that galvanised on the exhaust stack.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

The intake is alum from the mail box mod then out with alum to the galvanized to chimney. Thanks Dan..

I don't think it would be a problem, I went with a dryer vent hard pipe snapped it together and put a damper in it.

where did you find the damper?

Local heating dealer had them I think it was like 10-15 dollars and he installed it in the pipe for me. Google 3 or 4" dampers see what you can come up with, I will check also and let you know

This one would work great for you I think just put a nylock ntu on and install remember the handle is the way damper is so vert. is open and horz is closed

I know this is a very old post but I used a galvanised Steele pipe to connect my iq 110 to. I did however put about6 Coates of high temp pain't on it. The pipe does not go all the way to the pit. It stops right at vent. Here is a pic.
