I'm new to smoking meats, just got a killer deal on on a Masterbuilt Elite Sportsmen from Cabelas I couldn't pass up. Haven't plugged it in yet for seasoning, temps are still in the single digits. Thus, my first question, what outside temps are too cold for smoking. I hope I dont have to wait til June to fire this baby up!

I make my own potato sausage, cudighi (italian sausage), lots of venison stuff, etc.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a cold, rainy and chilly day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

I received the same smoker for my birthday on the 9th. I seasoned it up the next morning, and smoked some trout in it that night. I live about a half hour North of Green Bay, due East of Minnie. Hope this helps.

I was surprised how well it worked out. I kept it out of the wind though, it gets quite windy in my little town.
