Hey everyone. I'm Jeff and I need to be on another forum like I need a hole in my head.

Last fall I got into making my own goose sausage after a successful early goose hunting season. I needed some new ways to prepare the goose after we brought home 30 lbs of goose breast meat one day. When researching how to make sausage I realized I wanted a smoker and scored a free brinkmann electric smoker from my girlfriends parents. It was late September and the uninsulated smoker I got doesn't do well in cold weather so I've only smoked one time so far. I'm itching to try smoking some other meats now that spring is here. I found this forum while looking at new smokers online. Although I am a total newbie I already realize that I want to upgrade to an insulated digital electric smoker. Hey, who doesn't like new stuff?

Other than that I hunt waterfowl a lot in the fall/winterand shoot competitively in the summer. Mostly USPSA pistol and outlaw 3gun.

Looking forward to learning on here.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  You might consider converting a fridge to a smoker.  Insulation already there.  Just an idea.  Good luck.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!
