From flowers to fruits

Hey all, I am from Toronto and this is my first real post post here. We had a small garden in our front yard and it was a flower garden. After this winter we are planning to convert our garden to a fruit garden. The garden was {link removed} and it's a raised bed garden so any kind of plants may be grown there. So this spring we will plant the seeds. I would like to get some suggestion on the kind of seeds I should be using as this is my first time. I am thinking of berries, is that a good choice? Or should I start with something else?

Start with an apple tree that has 4 or more varieties on it...  makes better pies....
