That is a heavy duty rig, nice work.  Post some more details when you have the time.

I'd like to see the inside.

  3. here are 2 pics of the inside. I have a short video on You Tube, just search "how to build a refridgerator smoker"[IMG][IMG]

Almost looks like you left the original inside panels in there.

The reason I asked is because the guy behind me is always taking fridges to the junk.  I'm wanting to build an offset wood smoker like yours there.

  5. The inside is the original metal.  The trim around the door and just inside the door was plastic so I replaced it with aluminum strips which were were cut from stockcar body panels. I had to cover a few holes on the inside so I used the metal from the sides of an old dryer. Used 500 degree RTV silicone and sheet metal screws.

    Very cool Danny,

Could we see a little more of the firebox part ?

How hot, and how cool (with smoke) can you get the inside of your fridge?

  7. here are couple pics of the firebox.  Bottom of charcoal basket is about 5 inches above bottom of box.  I have 4 one inch holes on each side for air with a slide for adjustment. I normally smoke around 230-240. I did heat to 300 degree inside the fridge just to see if I could reach that temp. It holds at temp very well wtih very little adjustment needed.[IMG][IMG]
  8. Is the main panel of the door original?  I'm wondering about leaving mine in. It seems to take the heat.
