Friday Baby Backs!

  1. The wife decided she wanted ribs for dinner.  Picked up a pack of some good looking BB's and prepared them last night and put them on at 11am this morning.  Using a combination of Hickory and Cherry for the smoke and trying to hold 225 ish

    After 2 hours at  225-235.  A little windy so it's hard to keep it perfect.

    Wrapped (with some Apple Juice) and back on for a couple more hours.

  5. Thanks guys.  Shooting for 5pm.  Early Dinner and then I'm going to sit by the fire and enjoy some cold ones.  Don't thing you'll make it here in time...

    Just checked them.  Been wrapped 2 hours and I'd like to see just a little more pull back.  Giving them 20 more minutes...

    Smells awesome!

  10. I'm going to rest them for 45 min or so when they're done.  That's the best I can do!!!   LOL

I honestly thought they were the best I've done.  I've only been smoking meat for 6 months or so and this was only the 4th time I did BB's.  It get's much easier with practice, I can tell you that.  The whole smoke went very smooth and the flavor was awesome!  I tweaked the rub to our personal liking and used Cherry for 2/3's of the time, instead of straight hickory.  I really think that made a difference.  

    Can't wait to do it again!
     
  17. Very glad to hear they came out to your liking.  As you say, the more times you do them, the more you'll have it down pat!  I've never tried cherry with my ribs... I may just have to give that a try.
