We have become good friends with one of our 4H families and their girls love to come over and cook with us.  Today I decided to make some fresh Mozzarella with two of the younger ones. They are great helpers and will be awesome cooks soon.

Here they are heating up the milk

Here we are with some curd separation

Scooping out the curds so we can work it

One thing about these helpers is they are very quick to gobble up goodies so this is the only pic I got of the cheese. This is all that was left after it cooled for 30 min. I had to save some for their parents

We also made some bread with Mrs Scar while the cheese was cooling - (it is in the bowl on the counter behind the flowered kid )

Another great thing that you folks are doing out there in Calif. Oh yea that cheese isn't bad either.

Thanks for all the great comments. We have just as much fun with the kids as they do. Give it a try you will love the results

Looks good Gary, I'm really wanting to try making some Mozz and you're just making it harder to wait, ...my citric acid and rennet is sitting in Costa Mesa just waiting to be put in the mail.

Hey Gene - do you need me to drop some in the mail for ya? I could throw in some more casings if you need

Thanks for the offer Gary, I'll take a rain check, ...immediately  after I read (even before I copied it into my cheese folder) Al's Mozz post I ordered some and had it sent to the cousin in Costa Mesa, however she is a recently divorced working mom with three kids, so I don't press her to take the time to go to the Post Office, it will get here and when it does I'll be makin' Mozz with the rest of you.
