I've always purchased and consumed rib roasts fresh. Our local grocery chain has them on sale this week for $5.49/lb. Was thinking about picking one up and tossing it in the freezer since I don't see any time for the next week or so to embark on a smoke out. Do they freeze well?

Yes they freeze well. I just smoked one 2 weeks ago from Christmas. Just wrap well, you will be fine.

It should be fine sounds like a great camp meal

for sure, they freeze great.
my local butcher has them this week for 3.99lb
will be picking up at least one they run about 15-16lbs
usually cut them in half and vacuum seal

I buy those whenever I find them on sale for under $5.00 per pound. Usually I just slice into thick rib eye steaks and freeze for later.
