Freezing a rib roast?

Discussion in 'Beef' started by grouper sandwich, Apr 2, 2009.

  1. I've always purchased and consumed rib roasts fresh. Our local grocery chain has them on sale this week for $5.49/lb. Was thinking about picking one up and tossing it in the freezer since I don't see any time for the next week or so to embark on a smoke out. Do they freeze well?

Yes they freeze well. I just smoked one 2 weeks ago from Christmas. Just wrap well, you will be fine.

I buy those whenever I find them on sale for under $5.00 per pound. Usually I just slice into thick rib eye steaks and freeze for later.
