Great job Meowey and some nice looking pork.

Finished pics are in post #18. I foiled it, let it cool, chopped it up, and it's waiting in the freezer for the Brunswick Stew to be made for the BBQ Charity dinner I'm doing for the local Elks Lodge. Next week I'm going to smoke 4 or 5 butts for the pulled pork. The day of I'm going to do the stew, baby backs for the "Buck-A-Rib" special and Dutch's Wicked Beans. .

Will post both of those smokes, and maybe a pic or two from the dinner.

Take care, have fun, and do good!

Also listed in there...one of my favorite German beers-
----------------
Aventinus

This is the "king" of Bavarian beer: rich, dark, strong, with a nice foam. It is only available in restaurants and some speciality beer stores (or liquor stores). Excellent beer, but quite heavy, with a high alcoholic content (ca. 7). Origin: a Bavarian cloister brewery. Do not drink more than one 0,5 l bottle at a time.
-------
They are not really kidding 'bout the one bottle! Altho, I'd have a couple in the course of an eve. Won a bet once with a studly <heh> barley-pop <Bud, I think> drinker. After listening to his bragging about his drinking conquests, I bet him double the cost of 4 bottles that he would not finish them. After another session of chest-pounding about his drinking prowess I ponied up the cash, and named his 2 buddies as seconds, as I knew I'd need them...heh. Out on the floor 1/2 way thru #3. Of course he tried mannishly chugging the first one... his buddied paid the bet.

I went with the Pentax because I already had a Pentax 35mm SLR, and the K100D uses all the lenses I have for the 35mm. I'm still "playing" with it to figure how to get the best results for both web and prints. Any tips?

Take care, have fun, and do good!

Meowey

My first camera was a pentax. This was before the beyonette lenses; they were all screw ons. I still get that guy every now and then when the customer wants a classic black and white (something that digital is still lacking). As far as suggestions go, I won't be much help with this particular D-SLR. But visit these folks:

I hit the Nikon SLR and Lighting Technique forums on a daily basis. Most people on the site are very helpful.

There are mods for that baby that allow lower temps yet. Involves what I percieve as double regulating the gas flow... And smoking temps for other stuff are not a problem. Lots of folks use that puppy with great success.

HEY GOSM users... wanna field this one?
