Howdy all! Long time smoker here. I was actually turned on to this site for Sausage making info because I want to get into making and smoking my own along with the Brisket and PP. I didn't realize the resources that where here were so vast. I've already spent a good amount of time lurking the past few days and have built quite a list of "I have to do that!" items.A little bit about myself, retired Navy in 2006 (EWCS, 26 yrs) Born and raised in Texas but despite my best efforts I couldn't seem to get away from Washington state when I retired due to a few roots put down and the post retirement job. I'm also a homebrewer and my Home Brewery name is "Lost Texan Brewery" which might explain the handle. I have 3 smokers, OK Joe, Brinkman bullet (the green multi use one) and an older Smokey Mountain gas unit. All of them have their place but the OK Joe is my newest challenge. Trying to work out the kinks and learn stick burning.Having two hobbies (actually 3 if you count the woodworking) that can take up some time is challenging but rewarding as well and for some reason SWMBO tolerates my indulgences.Looking forward to interacting more and learning more as well.Lou

You might want to check out Jeff's Free 5 day E-Course, it has great information to use no matter your skill level!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
