I was thinking of using my grinder as a stuffer since it comes with those attachments. I know a dedicated stuffer is probably the way to go and I may get one but for now this seems convenient.

I was thinking of a on off foot controller for the grinder since it would free 2 hands to handle feeding and casings. I imagine a light duty 10 amp foot controller would do. I found 2 types: Step on and when you take your foot off it stops or one step on to turn on and step on again to turn off.

2 hands sure better than 1 in making sausage Rick-good thinking and a good price.

get the one that stops when you take your foot off just for safty reasons

I agree with Mordach to get the one that stops when you remove your foot for safety reasons if you go this route, but you would be better served buying a 5# vertical stuffer. You can find them frm Harbor Freight or on ebay for $60 with a little patience.

I agree. Use only a momentary contact. You dont want to pullsome thing improtant into your grinder. Otherwise....Looks like you got a good handle on it.

Shooter,
I have the pedal that when you take your foot off it shuts off, was a smart buy. You should get along with it fine.

I have a foot pedal for my grinder and use it for a stuffer. I don't use it for anything but hotdogs because the process of going through the grinder, even without the knife and plate, causes the product to get almost emulsified like you would want a hotdog to be. Just my $.02
