I have a jumbo joe and looked at some of the builds you guys have done and they are nice. I also saw somewhere that someone made an extension for the joe with flashing but it is kinda flimsy. I had an idea and please tell me if it sucks. I was thinking of a roll lath or expanded metal sandwiched between layers of flashing to add support and possibly help insulate the walls. Is it possible that this could work with say, 20" flashing to make a mini? The cheapest I have been able to find an 80 qt pot for is about $102 with shipping.

Here are a couple of quick pics from my phone of the project. It isn't the prettiest thing in the world but it holds temp pretty well and is fairly sturdy. I cut a 14" x 10' roll of flashing in half and sandwiched lath between the sections. Two racks plus screws to hold a pizza sheet diffuser. In the side I used lamp hardware for a thermometer port for my maverick 733 so I can measure meat and smoker temps. I did a quick dry run to season and tested it with a pork butt. Not bad and much cheaper than a crock pot. I added a threaded rod and dowel handle to the lower vent for easy adjustments.
