First Try Tip smoke.

  1. Try Tip Prime on at 4:00. Smoked 1-1/2 hour at 250, pulled it at 159 internal and seared it on my little Weber. :grilling_smilie:

    Nice job. I'll be smoking two 3 pounders tomorrow.
     
  5. Everything I've read says the TT should have been pulled between 120-130 or so then seared or wrapped until 140-145. Maybe my thermometer is off.

    I smoke to 115-120 then sear pull about 125-130 IT.

    Tri tip looks great. But if you pulled it at 159, and it looked that pink your therm must be off. That would have been well done, especially after the sear you did. I pull mine at 130-135 and it looks like what you had. Test your therm in boiling water and see what you get reading wise.
