Hey guys I am in need of some much needed help. My son wants me to smoke a brisket for his birthday and to have it pulled. I am ashamed to say I don't know much of anything about briskets. What type of brisket should I try and buy to use? What style makes the best pulled brisket? I've seen numerous posts but I am still confused on what part is what and what is the right cut for pulled brisket? Thanks for any help with this everybody I really want to give him a good birthday dinner!! I am one worried dad!!

If he wants pulled beef, I say go with a chuck roast. Cheaper and easier. You can rub it with whatever you'd like and smoke it like you would a pork butt. There are some great posts on here that will give you all the right info. I have followed them and made some great pulled beef. Just search "Chuckies" in the search engine.

Or, ask why he wants it pulled instead of sliced... Show him some QView here... He might change his mind!

buy a whole packer brisket and slice the point and chop the flat for "pulled brisket".
