I've been smoking for a few years and have done some BBQ competitions the last few years as well. Unfortunately for someone who doesn't think you should use BBQ sauce, it makes it a bit difficult when doing competitions in KC because all the judges want BBQ sauce on everything. I don't like the idea of using store bought BBQ sauce, I kind of think it's cheating, so I thought I would try and make my own. I'm looking to make two kinds of sauces, a sweet & smoky sauce and a more tangy sauce. If anyone has any ideas on how to make these types of sauces I would appreciate it.
