After my reasonalbe attempt at pulled pork ( see http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/141218/my-first-smoke#post_984385)

was wanting to try ribs but the layout of my smoker would only allow for 1 rack

(see pic)

However I assume it's okay to design some form of racking to allow multi layers of ribs ?

Our equivelent of Walmary sells cooling racks for baking which I guess could be adapted - if that's okay how much speration should I allow to make sure the smoke gets round okay - think a maximum I would ever want to do would be 4 Racks of Ribs?

I'm aware of the 321 method so would do that

Any help as ever is appreciated

Re Weber Rack

PS think I'm going to have to go DIY  - they are £ 18  ($ 28) over here on amazon !

More I've looked at photo the more it Looks like a toast rack - might look at adapted one of those

Looks like it might be tight spacing....I wonder how bendable that metal is. I bet you could make it work. But your original idea had merit too. Maybe set a cooling rack on some soup cans to get above the first rack. As long as you have air circulating around the meat.... But to be honest , I think the rib rack idea is probably best. It's too bad you can't find the ultra cheap ones like they sell at the dollar store here. They work pretty well. And they're only 2dollars or so. :grilling_smilie:

Would probably be able to cut out every other bit of metal - think the max number if Ribs I would do is 3 at a time so should work - we have "Pound Shops" so may check there

Thanks for the help

Lowes has a pretty good rib/roast rack for a good price and thinking of getting one. I do have one now that I got a couple years ago and works pretty good.

I have even used my bacon hooks and hung my ribs from the end. I just pressed the spikes of the bacn hooks through the meat between 2 rib bones and hung them in the smoker. They came out awesome.

That rack should work using every other space if the rib rack will fit in the space. Otherwise, take out the unused pieces of metal.
