First time posting smoke

  1. Picked up a Tuscan blend tri tip @ Walmart about 2lbs Smoked in my MES 30 for 2 hours at approximately 225F to an IT130 then on the Weber to sear for 5 min per side Finished IT 150 Amnps in mailbox w/ hickory & cherry. Even though it was med it was really good

  2. I'm more of a med rare guy but that is a fine looking plate.

    Even at medium it still looks plenty juicy. The level of sear looks good so you might want to pull it from the smoker at 120 next time.

    It's really hard to get the final temp just right when smoking, then searing on the grill! Kind of a guessing game. I know I've slightly overdone them that way too, but they were still really good! It looks like yours turned out nicely moist and I'm sure it was delicious! Great job.
