My husband and I are doing a brisket for the first time on our electric smoker for game day. We have company coming over so want a really great recipe and any advice you might have for us on this. We have the Masterbuilt smoker and have only had it 3 weeks. So far we have conquered bbq pulled pork butt and ribs on it.

I have looked everywhere online and seems the best recipe I find is an Emeril texas style brisket that had actually good reviews.

Would appreciate any help!

How much does the brisket weigh?

The more I learn about smoking meat the more I realize the rub isnt as important as I originally thought. Let that wood flavor accent the meat and itll shine. A lot of people here suggest a simple SPOG rub (salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder). Cant really go wrong though. Greater experience will be along shortly to help you out. I'll try to answer anymore questions you have though so ask away.
