Since getting my A-MAZE-N Pellet Smoker (AMNPS) last week, I only had a small pork loin piece to test it out on. Last night, I tried it on some spareribs.
First, a generous application of Passing Wind Estates Rub.
Then into the Bradley with AMNPS loaded with hickory pellets for 2.5 hours. The ribs weren`t very meaty so I didn`t go the full 3 hours of the 3-2-1 method.
Here they are after 2,5 hours at 230 F in the Bradley.
I wrapped them in foil with some apple juice and back into the Bradley for 2 hours.
Out of the Bradley for a slathering of Passing Wind Estates Barbecue Sauce and back into the Bradley for 1/2 hour.
I brushed it down with sauce again and then back into the Bradley for 1/2 hour.
They turned out great. I am sorry for the two exposures of the same shot but I posted both in error and haven't been able to figure out how to get rid of the second one.
I deliberately kept this smoke pretty basic because it was about testing out the smoke flavour from the AMNPS versus the Bradley puck system.
The verdict: the ribs were great and I am becoming hooked on the 3-2-1 method. The smoke flavour from the AMNPS beats the Bradely system hands down. It was a nice hickory flavour with no off taste from the stronger Bradley smoke. I am going to love my AMNPS.
