Hey y'all. I'm so excited to have found this great site!

I've been grillin' for years, and have some experience using indirect grilling and wood chips.

Just purchased my first smoker...... the 30" Masterbuilt Analog Electric Smoker.

I gave it a good three hour seasoning and it seemed to work just fine. No leaks detected.

Not sure if the temp is accurate. I also bought a Master Forge wireless digital thermometer, which I haven't used yet.

My first smoke is going to be an eight pound turkey breast, which is brining now.

I was thinking of doing a pork butt at the same time but not sure if that would be too much to allow good circulation.

I am looking forward to talking to you folks and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

Porky

Porky,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
Keep Smokin!!!
