HI. My name is Jeannine and for the past few years I've used my Weber grill as a smoker and had pretty good, actually really good luck as it is a great grill to control the temperature. But at last I have my dream...a Masterbuilt New Generation digital smoker. I know...not for the purists but perfect for a person in a community where you can't store wood or have a fire etc etc. Just got it and tested it with a smoked chicken. Love the digital meat probe and have two racks of baby backs waiting to smoke. We now liive in central Florida and love it that there are bbq competitions near by to be enjoyed. I want to learn to really utilize my smoker and turn out goodies to tempt all my neighbors!

My son in laws both tease me about being a smoking gramma but they love it that now they're going to have to keep up with me. :-)

Just received Jeff's rub and sauce recipes and can hardly wait to try them out.

Hello and welcome to SMF! Congrats on the new smoker.

Just an FYI about those units - never trust the smoker temp reading or the food probe - they are notorious for being off. Get yourself a good thermometer that you know is accurate and check those temps.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! There are several of us that are Smokin' Grannies!  Glad to have you!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "SMF User Guidelines" .....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per TulsaJeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
