Discussion in 'Beef' started by murraysmokin, Dec 7, 2015.

  1. Did three lbs of beef, pork, & veal mix...added bread crumbs, red wine, couple eggs, meatloaf seasoning, & bbq sauce.

Formed it into loaf on to a shallow sided pan formed out of aluminum foil.

In the smoker for about 2 hrs @275 tempt out at 162

Forgot to get a pic before it got destroyed.

Looks great from here....... so where is the plates & forks?
  5. I like the idea of mixing the meats.

    Nice smoke!!!
  6. Thanks...The red wine instead of milk to soften the bread crumbs up really put a nice touch as well. The glaze was sweet baby rays, ketchup, rice wine vinegar, & ketchup.

I've done a few meatloafs. My favorite is using whatever recipe you want, then spread the meat out thin on wax paper. Put a full bag of shredded cheddar on it. Wrap it up, making sure to seal the ends. It makes a great cheese swirl in the middle of the loaf.

That would be your basic cheese Fatty, with ground beef instead of pork sausage. I have actually made fatties with GB...quite tasty.

Since you're new here and it sounds like you enjoy this type of prep and dining, though you may have missed this forum...I think you'll enjoy the reading and probably end up trying one, or three, soon:
