My own fault, but it didn't go so well, Burnt great for the first hr, then went out. I didn't catch it cause TBS was still being produced from the grease. I got called away and got back 2 hrs later and did not smell wood smoke. Grease got on one row of pellets and they were no good, tried to relight it, still could not keep it going. Switching to the chip tray for now will try it again tomorrow.

I did have the vent wide open and the chip loader pulled out about 2" on my Mes 30gen 2. I also had it full of meat which I know wasn't a good idea for a first try with new equipment.. I would like to figure it out though, my son entered into a smoker/grill throw down at our church in 2 weeks.

I did the mailbox mod to my MES 30 & no longer have to worry about my AMNPS getting dripped on, burning too fast, losing heat opening the smoker to add more pellets on a long smoke & it now adds no heat at all when cold smoking. Might be something for you to consider...
