I was about to be done with the smoker when I remembered to throw some eggs on.
I'm not sure how long they were in there, but they seem to have turned out ok. After they cooled off, I just threw them in the fridge for later.
So the eggs are raw when you put them in the smoker ??? DaveI do smoked Eggs a lot. I put them in an area where it is 225*f or so and leave them there for 2-1//2hrs.,light smokiness and color to them, and thet're great for Salads(Egg,Potato,etc.). A good space filler for the Smoking Grate.
Those are some great shots to give people and idea of how much color they get. Its pretty cool how brown they get.
This was to show how brown the shell got compared to a raw egg.
Shelled and ready to eat!
There was only a very slight smoke flavor to the egg. I think you are right about cold smoking hard boiled & de-shelled eggs if you are interested in a stronger smoke flavor.
