Fired up my new stick burner for the first time yesterday. I am relatively new to the smoking thing. I did a lot of research and the ribs came out tender and juicy but had a bit too much smoke for my taste. How do you keep from over smoking on a stick burner.

From my experience is you want to keep the smoke coming out of your smoker almost non existent to a light blue color.  If theres smoke barreling out of the smoker then your fire is smoldering and not burning.  If yours was a light blue to non existent and it produced this much smokey flavor, what kind of wood did you use?
